NEW DELHI: The electrifying atmosphere at the packed M Chinnaswamy Stadium reached a fever pitch as Virat Kohli stepped onto the field in the Royal Challengers Bengaluru jersey alongside his teammates during the RCB Unbox Event on Monday. The crowd erupted in deafening cheers, celebrating the official launch of RCB’s IPL 2025 campaign. The event featured the grand unveiling of the team’s new jersey, along with live performances and engaging interactions with players, including Virat and the newly appointed skipper, Rajat Patidar.
Following the event, Virat and his teammates took a lap around the stadium, acknowledging the passionate supporters.
A stalwart of RCB since the tournament’s inception in 2008, Virat was in high spirits, brimming with energy. He greeted the fans enthusiastically before tossing souvenir balls into the crowd, much to their delight.
The RCB Unbox Event 2025 boasted a stellar lineup of performers, including DJ Timmy Trumpet, Sanjith Hegde, Aishwarya Rangarajan, Hanumankind, All Ok, DJ Chetan, MJ Rakesh, Savaari Band, and Best Kept Secret.
RCB will be led by Rajat Patidar in IPL 2025, succeeding Faf du Plessis as captain. Faf has moved to Delhi Capitals for the upcoming season.
“The guy who is going to come next is the one who will lead you for a long time. So, give him all the love you can. He is an amazing talent with a great head on his shoulders, and he will do a fantastic job for this incredible franchise, taking the team forward. He has everything it takes,” Virat said during the event.
RCB will kick off their IPL 2025 campaign against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders on March 22.
