Mahindra XUV 700 Ebony editon launched at Rs 19.64 lakh: Differences explained

Homegrown Automaker Mahindra and Mahindra has launched the new Mahindra XUV 700 Ebony edition in the Indian market. The SUV is offered only in top-spec AX7 and AX7 L variants with prices starting from Rs 19.64 lakh for petrol MT and going up to Rs 24.14 lakh for AX7 L diesel automatic (both prices ex-showroom). For reference, the XUV 700 Ebony is priced at Rs 15,000 more than the equivalent variant. Interested customers can book the SUV online or by visiting their nearest dealership, deliveries are expected to begin soon.

Talking about the exterior changes, the Ebony edition sports a sleek, glossy black finish, which Mahindra has branded as “Stealth Black.” It also features the same multi-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels painted in gloss black. It also gets distinctive “Ebony” badging placed on the front fenders and tailgate, adding to its exclusivity. To create contrast, silver scuff plates adorn both the front and rear bumpers. With this latest addition, the XUV700 lineup now offers a choice of eight monotones and five dual-tone exterior colour options.
Moving inside, the SUV features a black interior and Ebony black leatherette upholstery with white stitching on the seats. Other highlights include silver accents along the centre console and door panels with light grey roof liner and dark chrome air vents, steering-mounted controls and the gear console. In terms of features and safety, it’s identical to the variants they are based on.

Talking about the powertrain, the new XUV 700 Ebony edition is offered in both petrol and diesel engine options with both 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox options. A 2.0-liter mStallion petrol engine and a 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine. The diesel unit delivers 182 bhp and 420 Nm of torque, which increases to 450 Nm in automatic variants, while the petrol engine generates 197 bhp and 380 Nm of torque.
