Made in India, for the world: Hyundai India exports 37 lakh cars in 25 years

Hyundai Motor India today announced that it has completed 25 years of exports from India. The export from India commenced back in 1999, Over the years, Hyundai has shipped over 3.7 million cars from India to over 60 countries worldwide. The company also said that, in 2024, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Mexico, Chile, and Peru emerged as the largest export markets for the company by volume. Hyundai has exported a total of 1,58,686 cars in CY 2024.

Since production started in 2007, over 1.5 million units of the i10 family which includes the i10, Grand i10, and Grand i10 Nios have been exported. Likewise, Hyundai has shipped more than 500,000 units of the Verna family which includes Verna, Verna Transform, Fludic and more from India. South Africa remains one of Hyundai India’s largest markets, with exports surpassing 1 million units and the company also started exporting the Exter micro SUV in 2024. It’s the eighth made-in-India model in South Africa. Hyundai India exports several popular models, including the Creta, Alcazar, Verna, Exter, and i10.
