The Indian electric scooter market is expanding rapidly, with major manufacturers introducing new models to cater to a growing demand. While Bengaluru-based EV maker Ather Energy has been in the space for a while now, Honda Motorcycles & Scooter India recently made its debut in the segment with the electrified version of its best-selling model, the Activa. Dubbed as Activa e, this model locks horns against several models in the segment including the Ather Rizta. Here, let’s check how these models stack up against each other on paper.

Honda Activa e vs Ather Rizta: Battery, range and performance

Honda’s Activa e stays true to its petrol-powered counterpart’s design while incorporating electric technology. It is powered by a 6 kW motor, delivering a top speed of 80 kmph. Honda claims a range of 102 km on a single charge. The scooter accelerates from 0-60 kmph in 7.3 seconds and offers three riding modes: Econ, Standard, and Sport.
The Activa e is equipped with two swappable 1.5 kWh lithium-ion batteries, giving it a total capacity of 3 kWh. The swappable battery setup ensures convenience, eliminating long waits for charging.
On the other hand, the Ather Rizta is available in three variants: Rizta S, Rizta Z 2.9 kWh, and Rizta Z 3.7 kWh. Unlike the Activa e, the Rizta offers more battery capacity options. The Rizta S and Z variants come with a 2.9 kWh battery, delivering a claimed range of 123 km per charge. The Z version features a larger 3.7 kWh battery, extending the range to 159 km. Performance-wise, the Rizta is powered by a 4.3kW motor. Like the Activa e, this family e-scooter comes with a top-speed of 60 kmph and can do the 0-40 kmph run in 4.7 seconds. The scooter also includes ride modes such as Zip and Smart Eco.
