Hasan Nawaz breaks Babar Azam’s record, scores fastest T20I century for Pakistan | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Young Pakistan batter Hasan Nawaz etched his name into the history books on Friday, becoming the fastest Pakistani to score a century in T20 Internationals. The 22-year-old right-hander achieved the remarkable milestone in just 44 balls during the third T20I against New Zealand at Eden Park, Auckland.
Nawaz’s blistering knock saw him smash 10 fours and 7 towering sixes, showcasing his power-hitting ability in a high-stakes run chase.
After being put into bat by Pakistan skipper Salman Agha, New Zealand posted a challenging total of 204.
Chasing 205, Pakistan got off to a flying start with an explosive 74-run opening stand. Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris played a fiery knock, scoring 41 off just 20 balls, laced with 4 fours and 3 sixes, before being dismissed.
Nawaz, however, took control of the chase and found a solid partner in Agha Salman (51).* The duo dominated the Kiwi bowling attack, remaining unbeaten to guide Pakistan to a commanding 9-wicket victory. Nawaz finished on 105 not out, sealing the win in style.
The fourth T20I between the two sides is set to take place at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui, on Sunday (March 23), while the fifth and final T20I will be held at Sky Stadium, Wellington, on Wednesday (March 26).
