AI revolutionizing dietary management for diabetes and obesity | India News

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming dietary management for diabetes and obesity, offering personalized nutrition plans, real-time glucose monitoring, and predictive analytics to improve patient outcomes.
AI-driven tools analyze dietary habits, metabolic responses, and lifestyle factors to recommend tailored meal plans. Apps like DeepCalorie use AI to track glucose levels and suggest optimal food choices, helping individuals manage blood sugar and weight effectively.
Continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) integrated with AI algorithms predict blood sugar fluctuations, alerting users to potential spikes or drops. Platforms use machine learning to forecast glucose responses to various foods, enabling proactive decision-making.
Venkata Ravi Kiran Kolla, the project’s lead researcher and a senior Al engineer, explained, “By simplifying calorie estimation, we aim to foster long-term healthier habits. AI provides an unprecedented level of precision in dietary recommendations, allowing for highly individualized nutrition strategies.”
AI’s role in dietary management is expected to grow, integrating with wearable devices and expanding predictive capabilities. Researchers are exploring AI-driven gut microbiome analysis to further refine dietary recommendations for diabetes and obesity.
