The Volvo XC 90 is offered in a single Ultra variant and a single petrol engine priced at Rs 1,03 crores (ex-showroom). The Audi Q7 is offered in two variants – Premium Plus and Technology and a single petrol engine option priced at Rs 88.66 lakh and Rs 97.81 lakh, respectively, ex-showroom. The new Volvo XC90 costs Rs 2 lakh more than its predecessor, and the Audi Q7 is significantly more affordable, with its top-end Technology variant still costing less than the XC90.
Volvo XC 90 vs Audi Q7: Engine options
The Audi Q7 is powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine which puts out 340 hp of power and 500 nm of torque. The engine comes paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and sends power to all four wheels via Audi’s Quattro AWD system. It has seven drive modes: Auto, Comfort, Dynamic, Efficiency, Off-Road, All-Road and Individual. The engine also gets a 48V mild-hybrid tech, and Audi says that the engine will be turned off for up to 40 seconds when coasting.

Audi claims that the Q7 can sprint from 0-100 kph in 5.9 seconds and has a top speed of 250 kph. The Q7 is offered in five exterior colour options – Sakhir Gold, Waitomo Blue, Mythos Black, Samurai Grey and Glacier White.
The 2025 Volvo XC90 is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, mild-hybrid turbo-petrol engine that puts out 250 hp of power and 360 Nm torque. The engine comes paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, which sends power to all four wheels. Volvo claims the SUV can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 180 kph. The new XC90 is offered in six colour options – Onyx Black, Crystal White, Denim Blue, Bright Dusk, Mulberry Red and Vapour Grey.

The new Volvo XC 90 gets three interior colour options – Charcoal, Cardamom and Blond. The Q7 gets two options – Cedar Brown and Saiga Beige. Features wise, the Q7 gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8.6-inch touchscreen for air-con control, an Audi virtual cockpit digital instrument cluster, Android Auto & Apple CarPaly, panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control with an ionizer, adjustable ambient lighting, Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system with an output of 730 watts, powered front seats with memory function, electrically foldable third-row seats and more. In terms of safety, it gets Park Assist Plus with a 360° camera, cruise control with a limiter, eight airbags, lane departure warning with steering assist, ESC and much more.

The Volvo XC 90 features an 11.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with google based Ui, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, four-zone climate control, a head-up display, memory seats, an air purifier (with a PM 2.5 filter), massaging front seats with heated and ventilation, Bowers and Wilkins audio system, wireless charger and more. Safety-wise, it gets dual-stage airbags, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert, lane keep aid, TPMS, rear collision warning, a 360-degree camera system and more.

Comparing the dimensions, the new Volvo XC 90 measures 4,953mm in length, 1,931mm in width, 1,773 mm in height, 2,984 mm in wheelbase, up to 267 mm in ground clearance and has a fuel tank capacity of 71 litres. The Audi Q7 measures 5,072 mm in length, 1,970 mm in width, 1705 mm in height, 3,000 mm in wheelbase, up to 254 mm ground clearance and has a fuel tank capacity of 85 litres. Both SUVs features 20-inch light alloy wheels.
